Sponsorship

Bees are fascinating creatures that captivate the attention of children (and adults). It is the goal of Clever Little Bees to provide hives to schools so that as many students as possible may have the opportunity to learn about the role honeybees play in our food chain. Many schools do not often have the budget to lend themselves to this kind of investment. This is where you come in. By supporting a school, you support a community of young learners, as well as the bees.

Beehive Sponsorship

Clever Little Bees is currently seeking sponsors for the Climate Action Campus hives. We would love to be able to place at least 10 hives on the Climate Action Campus. Schools currently involved in the Climate Action Campus are: Hagley College, Avonside Girls’ High, Shirley Boys’ High, Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery, Christchurch Girls’ High, Rawhiti School, Waitakiri School and Banks Avenue School.

Cost: $1,400 per year

Included in the sponsorship is:

- One hive for 12 months

- One practical beekeeping lesson per week for the duration of the school year for students involved with the Climate Action Campus

- Purchasing PPE gear for each student to use during their lessons - correct sizing for safety

- Lessons taken by a trained teacher

- Honey gathered from the beehive on site can be used to sell as a fundraiser

- 24 beekeeper visits per year to service the hive

- Registration of the apiary with Apiculture New Zealand

- Annual disease inspections and filing with AsureQuality

- Two treatments per year to protect the hive against disease

If you would like to sponsor a hive at the Climate Action Campus or find out more about sponsoring a school hive, please fill out the form and I will be in touch with you soon!
