Climate Action Campus

The Climate Action Campus is the first of its kind in Australasia and it is right here within the Red Zone of Christchurch! It is run as a satellite of special character school Ao Tawhiti and supported by The Ministry of Education. The initiative and vision behind the Climate Action Campus has been to show young people ways in which they can take action.

Clever Little Bees offers weekly beekeeping classes at the Climate Action Campus. Students learn about environmentally-friendly practices to keep bees, as well as about the important role that bees play within our society. Schools currently involved in the Climate Action Campus are: Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery, Hagley College, Avonside Girls’ High, Shirley Boys’ High, Christchurch Girls’ High, Rawhiti School, Waitakiri and Banks Avenue School.
